Liberty’s Wings

These are two pieces completed for Liberty Aquatic Center, Spokane Washington. They are wind vanes shaped like wings, and mounted on top of 15′ galvanized steel pylons. The wind vanes are 10′ tall, and 5′ and 7′ wide. They are shaped as airfoils.

The pieces flank the entry gazebo, creating an asymmetric entry space. The yellow wing can be seen from a freeway which is three blocks away, and from an intersection four blocks from the park.
