The shelves isolate the objects from the world surrounding them. The isolation of the enables an intimate investigation of the surfaces and form of the objects. The texture of the forms is enhanced because of the isolation, shelf size, and invitation to view.

These pieces are made in consideration of casting. They are patterns to cast using a lost wax investment casting. I am investigating texture of materials, such as the way wood splits, cord looks wrapped around objects, and drawing on soft materials. I also use wax casts as quotes of forms I have been able to capture and reproduce using molds.
